I have been involved in the computer industry since 1974 and am presently a Product Manager for the software company Exonet New Zealand Ltd

Previously I have been an analyst/programmer then Auckland Technical Support Manager for Intech Software Ltd a New Zealand owned software house.

I have experience in customer support and training, configuration/installation of local area networks, and software design and development.

           
My main recreation is center-board sailing and a Kayaking.

I am a Waterwise instructor and have been for more than a decade.
Waterwise teaches Year 5-8 school children in water safety and confidence.
During this time I have also help train many other adults to sail as part of the recruitment of new instructors.

In the past ...
I have been involved as treasurer of the North Shore Centre for Maritime Education.
I also coached level 1&2 juniour sail at Northcote Birkenhead Yacht Club for 5 years. I like most types of music except rap, country, and jazz. I am a Santana and Pink Floyd fan yet also like Phil Collins, Gordon Lightfoot and some Classical.

I am selective and a-typical in my TV viewing.
Of course I am also into videos and movie going.

When I do read for pleasure I prefer Science fiction.

We own a 1913 villa which keeps me busy.

I am an Occasional kite flyer.
I was born in Surrey, London, England and emigrated to New Zealand (with my parents and grandparents) at the age of seven.

I grew up in Auckland's southern suburb of Papatoetoe.

At Auckland University I studied maths, physics, chemestry, and computing.

I now live in Birkenhead on Auckland's North Shore with my Wife, Alison and my adolescent children Andrew and Heather. My O.E was to North America for the Northern Hemisphere winter of 1975/76.
After visiting most of the major cities of the West cost of the USA as well as Vancouver I rode the Candian Norther train accross the continent to Montreal where I experienced 4 months of the coldest Canadian winter for over a decade. I spent that Christmas in Boston and toured to Cape Cod. Whilst crossing the Pacific I visited Fiji, Hawaii, and American Samoa.

With my wife, I Visited Queensland driving from Brisbane to Townsville.

I have seen most of N.Z. and have toured the picturesque South Island several times.
My family regularly holiday in Taupo where we enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the opportunity to swim, sail and kayak on the lake.
